NDC Flagbearership Race: Let’s Ensure “Dignity” & “Fairness”… My Best Wishes To All – JJ Rawlings

Former President John Jerry Rawlings has urged the leadership of the opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC] to ensure a free and fair election in the ongoing presidential primaries.

Mr Rawlings also wished all the candidates well in a tweet, Saturday, February 23, 2019.

Let’s conduct today’s presidential primaries with dignity, transparency and fairness. My best wishes to all the candidates,” he said. 

The main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is holding its primaries to elect a presidential candidate to represent the party in the 2020 general election this Saturday, February 23.

The election to be supervised by the Electoral Commission is taking place in all the constituencies across the country.

Seven persons are contesting.

They are: Former President John Dramani Mahama, the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr Alban Kingsford Sumani Bagbin, former Vice Chancellor of University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof. Joshua Alabi, former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Mr Sylvester Mensah, former Minister of Trade, Ekwow Spio Garbrah, businessman, Nurudeen Iddrisu and NDC stalwart, Goosie Tanoh.

Almost 260,000 delegates of the NDC are expected to cast their ballot in the election.
