Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the PDP, says after the presidential election, he looks forward to a successful transition.

The former vice president further expressed satisfaction with the voter turn-out so far.

Atiku urged people to go out and cast their votes, if they hadn't already done so.

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says he looks forward to a successful transition after the presidential election.

Atiku made the comment on Saturday, February 23 at Ajiya ward in his home state of Adamawa, where he had gone to cast his vote, Daily Trust reports.

Legit.ng gathers that when asked what his reaction would be after the polls, he said: “I look forward to a successful transition.

That is what I look forward to.” The former vice president further expressed satisfaction with the voter turn-out and hoped that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would be able to cope with the numbers. He said: “So far so good, I’m impressed with the turnout of people.

I hope the electoral officers will be able to cope with the turnout.” Atiku, when asked if he would accept the results of the elections, said: "I'm a democrat." He urged people to go out and cast their votes, if they hadn't already done so.

Meanwhile, the vice presidential candidate of the PDP, Peter Obi, referred to the electoral process as 'clumsy'. Obi made the comment after casting his vote at his polling unit in Anambra state on Saturday.

When questioned by a Legit.ng reporter, Damilare Okunola, about what he thought about the electoral process so far, he said: “The process was clumsy. You all saw how long it took me to cast my vote.

I believe we can do better.” NAIJ.com (naija.ng) -> Legit.ng: Same great journalism, upgraded for better service! 2019 Election: Atiku may win and Buhari will be declared winner.
