Manasseh’s Exposé Very Empty And Deceitful - Chairman Wontumi

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has described an investigative piece which was aired on Thursday by Manasseh Azure Awuni, as an empty piece and a deceitful PR stunt, staged to keep his name alive.

Acoording to the NPP’s regional Chairman who is popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, the video by the Joy reporter lacked content and couldn’t be used as a yard stick to conclude that the NPP, has flouted the call by President Akufo-Addo for political parties to dissolve their militia group.

“The video which aired last night wasn’t a threat to our National Security. We all saw decent young boys and girls who were being advised by their leader to stay away from trouble. We heard the leader tell them not to do things which would land them in the hands of the Police.

"We saw them praying and clapping and you want us to believe they are a threat to our nation? Manasseh must not take us for a joke, this type of PR stunt to revive his career wouldn’t help. He must focus on doing the right thing and not generating news that are false,” he said.

Chairman Wontumi further called on the NDC not to rely on this “empty piece” by Manasseh Awuni to score cheap political points.

In his view, the NDC have thugs who have unregistered guns killing their own party members.

“If you see the video by Manasseh you see that the decent crowd were no where members of the Hawks who are given tramol and cocaine to kill their own members before their party, Chairman Ofosu-Ampofo.”

Within a short spate of time, there have been a conscious attempt by some journalists, to secretly film and throw light on activities they percieve to be dark acts of public servants.

Manasseh Azure Awuni, has come out with a recording that seeks to portray that the governing New Patriotic Party is training a militia group despite the President’s call to all political parties to dissolve such groups.

According to Manasseh, the militia group associated with the governing NPP is being trained at an important state facility classified as a security zone.

He further claimed that the group, De-Eye Group, has been meeting at the facility for close to two years.
