The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo Prampram constituency, Sam Dzata George cannot comprehend why the Emile Short Commission of Inquiry allowed Mohammed Sulemana to peddle falsehood when he appeared before them.

Sulemana, the National Security operative who slapped Sam George during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election appeared before the Commission on Friday to give his testimony and as part of that, he rendered an apology for assaulting the Member of Parliament.

Explaining his action, the operative said he assaulted the MP because he hurled tribal insults at him “the moment he saw my tribal marks”.

However, reacting to this in an interview on Citi Eyewitness news, Sam George wondered why the Commission did not query Sulemana for the lies especially when they had video evidence available to them.

“Why didn’t the commission play the video for him to show them where I insulted him…and the commission took it hook line and sinker without subjecting it to any interrogation…Even my fiercest critic in the NPP will not accuse me of tribalism; it is not a trait that I have ever displayed. I have my flaws but that has never been my flaw. What the gentleman said are lies…” he stated.

Apology

Speaking to the apology rendered by Sulemana, Sam George said once his name was not mentioned, the apology was not to him.

“The gentleman did not mention me by name and apologize to me in his testimony; he apologized to the country. I didn’t hear a specific apology to me"
