The camp of music trio, Praye, is very furious with organizers of the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) claiming they have decided to sabotage the group.

The group is unhappy with the treatment meted out to them by Charterhouse Ghana, organizers of the prestigious awards scheme.

This year marks the 20th edition of the VGMA, powered by Charterhouse Ghana and sponsored by Vodafone Ghana.

Praye, who for years split up but came back together to serenade Ghanaians with some old hit tracks and in 2018, made good music by releasing some hit tracks, has been looking forward to being nominated in the 2019 VGMA.

The nostalgic feeling of the group being back together again saw them billed on most music events last year. But as shocking as it is to them, they didn't make the list of any category in this year's event.

Speaking to host Kwame Adjetia on Neat FM's "Entertainment Ghana", Eugene Baah known in music circles as 'Choirmaster' and a member of Praye blasted the organizers saying they have really disappointed them.

He explained that before the group united, the VGMA organizers promised to support them when they come back, but from all indications; the organizers only wanted to take advantage of their unity to project their brand.

'Choirmaster' noted that since Praye united, Charterhouse has abandoned them and the bitter part of it is they didn't even recognize their hard work though they sent them their tracks to be nominated for this year's Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

“We’re very [very, very] disappointed. Ever since we came back together, there is no one who has even supported us with 5 cedis. We have been financing ourselves. And again, when you promised that you, guys, are going to support us only for you to disappoint us with this thing you’re doing. The award is not really our priority because as you know, Praye – we have won numerous awards but a deliberate attempt to push us out; I’m sure Praye fans won't take it lightly,” he said.

Choirmaster, speaking on behalf of the group, noted they are extremely upset that the event Organizers failed to nominate them.

“You don’t have to play with the hearts of the fans who are investing, who are coming to watch your show; who are putting all they want to put in what you’re doing . . . Our complaint is that this thing cannot go on every day. If you want to do it this way, then make it Charterhouse music awards. As for that, if you give someone awards and deny others, no one will complain but if you will make it Ghana music awards; make sure you satisfy the Ghanaian. Don’t let them complain every day,” he angrily blurted.
