Afenyo-Markin Donates 100 Freezers To Women In Efutu Constituency

The Member of Parliament for Effutu constituency, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has donated one hundred freezers to some women in his constituency.

The ceremony which took place in Winneba on Tuesday, 19th March, 2019, is a sequel to the 100 freezers he gave out to some women in the constituency a couple of weeks ago to help alleviate the poverty of the women, especially those who sell fish.

Fishmongers within the Winneba enclave have been having problems with preserving the fish they buy from the fishermen since they have no means of storing them.

It is upon this backdrop that the Member of Parliament for the area thought it was ideal to come to their aid with a model that would help them stock their fish for longer hours while having the flexibility to pay for the freezers on installment basis.

Three hundred (300) more women will be captured as the project has targeted 500 women in all by the end of May.

The Honorable Member of Parliament for Effutu ultimately looks to enhancing the capacities of his constituents in order to become self-sufficient and this, it is believed, will make the constituents economically viable.

The women expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Afenyo Markin for the kind gesture done them.
