Amewu 'Goofed' To Suspect Sabotage In Collapsed GRIDCo Pylon – Chief Biney

Deputy National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress [NDC], Chief Biney has labelled the 'saboteur' comment by the Energy Minister, John Peter Amewu concerning the collapsed GRIDCo tower as a mistake that should not have come from him per his status.

According to him, such declarations could be permitted to come from subordinates of the Energy Minister since investigations prior to the incident is yet to be conducted.

“What happens to the final investigations conducted should it not match what the Minister had earlier said? He should have left such comments to his deputies,” he said.

He said the Energy Minister should have used 'suspicion' in his statement than saying the victim caused the harm to sabotage the government of the day, when the suspect is yet to be caught to make his/her intentions known.

“Peter Amewu made a mistake with his comments concerning the collapsed GRIDCo tower, that it was a deliberate act by a citizen to sabotage President Akufo-Addo’s government, and needs to make redress to that,” he stressed on UTV’s late news discussion.

He said the NDC should possibly also use this instance to say that unfortunate occurrences that happened during their days of governance were caused by human action to sabotage the Mahama government.
