Shatta Wale’s ‘Hilarious’ Cry At 3Music Awards

Obviously inspired by the love shown to him by his passionate fans, Shatta Movement President, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr know in show business as Shatta Wale couldn’t hide his tears when his hit song ‘Gringo’ won the “Video of the Year” at the just ended 3Music Awards.

Emotional Shatta Wale paused his acceptance speech and began to shed tears on stage.
Caught in his emotions, the Zylofon signed artiste said “Daddy wherever you are I want to dedicate this”.

The “Amount” hitmaker won big on the night with eight awards. He picked up Fan Army of the Year, Reggae/ Dancehall Act of the Year, Digital Act of the Year, Reggae / Dancehall Song of the Year, Best Video, Viral song of the Year, Song of the Year and Man of the Year.

Shatta Wale left only three awards for his arch rival Stonebwoy on the night which are, Album of the Year, Afrobeats Song of the Year and Most Streamed Song on Boomplay.

The second edition of 3Music Awards came off on Saturday, March 30, at the Fantasy Dome, Trade Fair in Accra.

This year Shatta Wale was the first act to perform after the brouhaha that occurred last year; his inability to perform due to limited time.

Other artistes who got patrons thrilled included; Cina Soul, Tulenkey, Kofi Mole, Adina, Akwaboah, Dope Nation and La Meme Gang, Rocky Dawuni.

Medikal didn’t also disappoint patrons as he performed his smash hit, Omo Ada, Risky, Gimme Vibe and Wrowroho.

The Bethel Revival Choir also won Gospel Song of the Year, Gospel Act of the Year and Group of the Year.
Prof. Kofi Abraham was honoured with the Legendary Award, Highlife musician, Obuoba J.A. Adofo, and music producer Mark Okraku Mantey also received honorary awards.

The stage set up was wonderful and the emcees, Lexis Bill and Cookie were eccentric.
