Go To Court! Akufo-Addo Gov't Can't Do Anything About Your Predicament - Menzgold Customers Advised

Lawyer Gary Nimako, a private legal practitioner has advised the aggrieved Menzgold customers to look for other alternatives to retrieve their monies rather than always speaking on radio and calling on the government to intervene and retrieve their monies for them.

He explicitly told the aggrieved Menzgold customers that the Akufo-Addo Government cannot do anything about their predicament.

According to him as far back in 2016, regulators in the financial sector on several occasions warned customers to desist from investing monies in the company as it was not licensed to engage in such business, adding Ghanaians disregarded those warnings from the government.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, he reiterated that Menzgold is a Limited Liability Company operating under a board, making it possible for the aggrieved customers to go to court and demand the assets of the company to be liquidated or frozen.

"You cannot force somebody not to invest in a private company . . . I remember the customers themselves mocking government that they will continue to invest . . . now that your money is locked up you are calling government . . . the time that you were enjoying the dividends did you remember government?”

"This is not politics but a private business which has gone bad and the government needs not to be blamed," he stressed.

He, therefore, advised customers whose contractual obligations have not been met by Menzgold to seek legal redress to retrieve their funds.

“The proper procedure is for them to take the company to court . . . I'm not sure government will pay any money to anybody . . . speaking on radio too will not bring them their money so they should try and do the right thing by going to court,” he advised.
