The MP for Nsawam/Adoagyiri Hon Frank Annoh-Dompreh has presented a cheque for fifty thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghc 50, 000.00) from his share of the MP's Health Fund to the Nsawam Government Hospital for the commencement of work on the constructiom of a new Maternity Block for the Hospital.

The amount ( Ghc 50, 000.00) constitutes 90% of Hon Annoh-Dompreh's share of the MP's Health Fund for the year.

An average of 18 births are recorded daily at the Hospital thereby making the current 50-bed capacity Maternity Block too small for the number of mothers who visit the maternity block to give birth.

Presenting the cheque to the hospital, Hon Frank Annoh-Dompreh promised to leave no stone unturned to ensure the smooth Construction of the new maternity block and appealed to Organisations and individuals to help in that regard.

The Medical Superintendent of the Nsawam Government Hospital, Dr Kofi Abloh thanked Hon Frank Annoh-Dompreh for his immense support to the Hospital.

He said in spite of the challenges faced by the Hospital , it( the hospital) will continue to offer its best service to patients to help save lives.

Mrs Eunice Abuaku Nsawam/Adoagyiri Municipal Director of Health urged people within the Municipality to seek healthcare in other facilities such as Health Centers and Community Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds to help ease the pressure on the Nsawam Government Hospital.
