Why Did Ablakwa And NDC Speedily Publicize The PUB Draft? - Sam Pyne Asks

Ashanti Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sam Pyne says it was of no use for Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, a former Education Minister in charge of Tertiary and his party members to talk against the Public Universities Bill as if it has been passed in Parliament, when it is only a draft.

He said it is sad that members of the largest opposition party are creating a bad impression about the government of the day, just to score cheap political points when government has in mind good plans to better the public universities.

“It is only with the NDC that a draft in Parliament becomes a passed Bill ready to be implemented,” he emphasized on Adom FM’s ‘Mpensenpensenmu’ political panel discussion segment.

According to him, the most painful aspect is for Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, a former Minister of Education under Mahama administration and other NDC educationists to talk as if government wants to take the power of universities from their hands.

“What at all caused Okudzeto Ablakwa and some educationists in their party to speedily publicize a Bill which is still in the process of stakeholder consultations?” he asked.

Explaining further, Sam Pyne stressed that it will be wrong for members of the NDC to attribute the new proposed directive by government to the recent misunderstandings that started in some of the public universities.
