Mahama Should ‘Shut Up’ On Komenda Sugar Factory - Carlos Ahenkorah

Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah says former President John Dramani Mahama's comment on the Komenda sugar factory is “unfortunate” – and wants him to 'shut up'.

Mahama over the weekend advised government against disposing off the Komenda Sugar Factory in the Central Region.

He said selling off the factory as suggested by government would not be in the interest of the people of Ghana.

“I heard recently that the government wants to sell the factory and it is unacceptable since this is an investment put together by the government of Ghana,” he said.

But, Carlos Ahenkorah, in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’. explained that the factory lacks “so many things”. According to him, the factory can only process brown sugar and cannot turn sugar-cane into sugar as Ghanaians have been made to believe.

“You can’t build a factory with no raw materials available. It’s a shame. He should shut up,” he said.
