Short Commission Report: President Will Not Relent In Fight Against Vigilantism - Buabeng Asamoah (VIDEO)

National Communication Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP), Yaw Buabeng Asamoah has explained that President Akufo-Addo will not relent in his fight against vigilantism.

He says despite the Emile Short Commission's report and the various commentaries being made by the opposition NDC, they should not forget the President initiated moves to have the issue of vigilantism banned completely from our body politic.

Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, the Adentan Member of Parliament explained that he is very much surprised to find some members of the NDC making disparaging comments about President Akufo-Addo's fight against vigilantism when in fact during their tenure nothing was done about this menace.

"The President is and will not be perturbed about the findings of the Emile Short Commission, he will not relent in his effort and fight against vigilantism, he will make sure that he will bring to an end the fight against vigilantism."

The Emile Short Commission which investigated the violence that marred the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election has presented its report to the President.

Emile Short, Chairman of the Commission, said he was confident President Akufo-Addo will find their findings and recommendations useful in shaping reforms for the future.

Presenting the report, he thanked the President “for this initiative, and commend your resolve to stamp out the evil of electoral violence from our politics.”

On his part, President Akufo-Addo thanked the Members of the Commission, and all others associated with its work, for agreeing to provide this service to the people of our country.
