"I Have Drank Freely From Your Fountain of Knowledge" - Mahama Eulogizes Chief Imam

Former President John Dramani Mahama has descrbed the Chief Imam, Sheik Nuhu Osman Shaributu, as a living testimony of peace and tolerance.

He says he is undoubtedly one of the key reasons various religions in Ghana are enjoying peaceful co-existence in the country.

Wishing him a happy 100th birthday on his face book wall, the ex-president noted that he has drank freely from his fountain of knowledge and been guided by his patience, wisdom, thoughtfulness, leadership, empathy and forgiveness.

"From my days as a Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister when my father, E. A. Mahama, said literally that he was handing me over to you as your son, and through my days as a Vice President and President, I have drank freely from your fountain of knowledge, and been guided by your patience, wisdom, thoughtfulness, leadership, empathy and forgiveness".

Happy 100th birthday, Sheikh Nuhu Sharabutu.

Happy 100th birthday, Sheikh Nuhu Sharabutu.

I join in prayers to Allah to grant you many more years of good health and strength, to continue as a living testimony of love, peace, tolerance, forgiveness and human kindness.

You are, undoubtedly, one of the key reasons for the enviable peaceful co-existence enjoyed by all religions in Ghana and also among the various Muslim denominations.

From my days as a member of Parliament and Deputy Minister when my father, EA Mahama, said literally that he was handing me over to you as your son, and through my days as a Vice President and President, I have drank freely from your fountain of knowledge, and been guided by your patience, wisdom, thoughtfulness, leadership, empathy and forgiveness.

On this joyous occasion, Lordina and I extend to you our warmest greetings and wish you well.
