Parliament Reconvenes On Monday, 29th April

Members of Parliament have been recalled for sitting Monday, 29th April, 2019.

This according to parliament is in accordance with the power conferred on the Speaker by Order 42(3) of the Standing Orders of the Parliament of Ghana, which provides that Mr Speaker may, if he thinks fit, call a sitting of the House before the date or time to which it has been adjourned, or at any time after the House has been adjourned sine die.

In a statement sighted by Peacefmonline.com, the recall is occasioned by a need for the House to consider some very important Parliamentary business including the completion of work on and passing of the Companies Bill among others.

Our sources indicate however that a bill ending political party vigilantism which was laid before the house before they went on recess will also be laid within the one week of sitting.

They are expected to rise to continue with their break on Friday 3rd May, 2019.
