My Mother Gave Birth To Me At 17 – Wendy Shay

“My mother gave birth to me at age 17,” she revealed as she share her love for her mother ahead of Mothers’ Day on Sunday.

Speaking to Onua FM, the songstress, born Wendy Addo, disclosed the striking resemblance between her and her mother. “I remember my mother whenever I look at myself in the mirror because we look very much alike. She’s pretty young because she gave birth to me at age 17”.

The ‘Bedroom Commando’ hit maker, in appreciating the role of mothers, referred to them  as angels while giving listeners a taste of her song MAMA in honor of all mothers.

When asked about her relationship with Shatta Wale, she said the only relationship that exists between them is purely professional and also revealed that she is currently single.

On a media tour to promote her new song ‘Steve Wonder’ ft Shatta Wale, the Afro beat diva said she’s still working hard to be a better version of herself and does not regard criticisms since they are inevitable.

Bagging three nominations ahead of VGMA 19, Wendy Shay, who’s barely a year old in the industry, urged her fans to vote for her to win the Afro pop Song of the Year, New Artiste of the Year and Album of the Year with her ‘Shay on You’ album.
