The Ghana Union of Professional Students [GUPS] has lauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his commitment to ensure that Ghanaian youth are competitive globally.

Addressing the Global Peace Inter Generational Dialogue launch in Accra, the President noted that his government will work tirelessly to ensure that the Ghanaian youth is globally competitive in all dimensions.

“All is set for the construction of 21 state-of-the-art Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) Centers this year in the various regions of the country. The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) centers are also being built around the country to provide support for the introduction of STEM into basic education, after the completion of a successful pilot phase,” he said.

Adding that, “They have to survive. Technology is what helps us to make the world truly a global village, and enables once poor people to become prosperous, and scale up the value of their economic activities.”

The President of GUPS, Aboagye-Sarpong however noted that the President’s comment is an encouragement to the Ghanaian youth.
