Confusion Rocks GIMPA End of Semester Exams - (Video)

The ongoing end of semester examination of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) was Tuesday evening disrupted by a confusion between management of the university and students.

Information gathered indicated the school authorities sacked students, some of whom were suspected not to have fully paid their fees or registered, from taking part in the exam.

A video available to us shows a woman said to be the Assistant Registrar of the University, Mrs Armah, directing students to leave the exam hall amidst some reluctance from the students. Some of the students  said the school had issued a notice on Friday, May 10, giving all defaulting students from May 13 to 17 to register whether they paid up their fees or not.

According to them, they faced some technical challenges while trying to register, but management would not take that as an excuse, even though the deadline has not elapsed.

Some of the students have argued that, as far as they know, it is not a policy of the university to sack students who have not fully paid fees or registered from an exam hall.

Attempts to get the official reaction of management was unsuccessful.
