NDC's Essamuah Must Render An Apology To Twi Speaking Presenters - Cape Coasters
National Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Kakra Essamuah has been asked by some Cape Coasters and radio listeners to render an apology to morning show host, Osahene Kwame Dapaah for his ethnocentric comments on air.
The Communications Director is said to have incited Fantis against Twi presenters on radio stations in the region.
During a live interview, Lawyer Essamuah is also said to have towed a tribal line insisting that the presenter speak Fante with him before he would respond to his questions.
He questioned that, "Why should you be speaking Twi on a Cape Coast-based radio station?"

THE NATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR OF THE NDC MUST APOLOGIZE FOR HIS ETHNOCENTRIC COMMENTS AGAINST TWI SPEAKING RADIO PRESENTERS IN CAPE COAST
The National Communications Director of the NDC, Lawyer Kakra Essamuah, has chided the Morning Show Host for Okokroko fm, Osahene Kwame Dapaah, for speaking Twi on air.
How could Kakra Essamuah incite Fantes against a radio presenter in Cape Coast! This is very barbaric and should be condemned by all media practitioners in this country. What was Osahene Kwame Dapaah's crime! Did he speak ewe, ga, Dagbani, Wala or Nzema on a local radio station in Cape Coast? No, Kwame Dapaah just spoke Twi which is a dialect of the Akan language on a radio station in Cape Coast and look at how the tribal bigot, Kakra Essamuah has taken Kwame Dapaah the host to the cleaners because he spoke Twi.
The question to ask, is Kakra Essamuah saying that all radio presenters or hosts in Accra should speak Ga? Does Kakra Essamuah speak Ga when he appears on radio stations in Accra? If Kakra Essamuah speaks Fante on Accra radio stations, then what is Kwame Dapaah's crime in speaking Twi on a radio station in Cape Coast? Is Kakra Essamuah saying that Fantes do not understand the Twi dialect? To the extent that Kakra Essamuah threatened to report Osahene Kwame Dapaah to his employers for speaking Twi on a radio station in Cape Coast! Kakra Essamuah, please, grow up! This behaviour of yours is totally uncalled for.
Mr Essamuah must render an unconditional apology to Osahene Kwame Dapaah. We have Fantes hosting morning shows on radio stations in Twi speaking areas and is Kakra Essamuah saying that those Fante speaking hosts should also be attacked in such an uncivilized manner! Who told Kakra Essamuah that only Fantes listen to Okokroko fm? People in Hemang Lower Denkyira, Twifo Atti Mokwaa and the Assin areas also listen to Kwame Dapaah's radio station which is Okokoroko fm.
So how did Kakara Essamuah expect those Twi speaking people who listen to Kwame Dapaah feel! Did Kakra Essamuah say he has done communications studies! Jesus Christ!
Kakra Essamuah has been very ethnocentric from day one and it is about time he puts a stop to that behaviour. He made such tribal comments during the 2000 elections and he was put to a big shame when Fantes and Ghanaians in general looked at the issues and voted for the then candidate Kufuor as President. That should have taught you a big lesson that Ghanaians are very discerning. You should bow down your head in shame! Next time stay focus and don't deviate from why you were called.
