Dafeamekpor: Akufo-Addo Caught Off Guard

Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, the Member of Parliament (MP) for South Dayi constituency says President Akufo-Addo was not prepared for the Women Deliver Conference which was held in Canada.

President Akufo-Addo courted controversy on the women front when he said: "we are not seeing enough dynamism and activism on the part of those who are seeking. I am talking about dynamism where it matters…electing people to Parliament, controlling political parties because they are the instruments by which our societies make decisions...We are talking about decisions, not wishes and hopes, we are talking about decisions that are going to make the difference”

The women's wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are defending him, while that of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are demanding an apology.

Reacting to this on Joy Newsfile programme, Saturday, the South Dayi MP said: "Our president wasn’t prepared, he wasn’t briefed properly. They underrated it…His policy advisers needed to have given him the statistics…he was caught off guard. If he was properly briefed, he wouldn’t have come out like this"
