How Two Policemen Are Leading By Example With Their Appearance - PHOTOS

Service Instruction (SI) 91 which is like Police Bible simply talks about turn-out/appearance.
It expects every single personnel of the service to appear neat in uniform at all times, and also have all equipment fixed in proper order. Acting otherwise is tantamount to charges.

In so doing, we the junior officers have taken it upon ourselves to go in accordance with this section of the SI and appear neat just to set exemplary life to our colleagues who aren’t ready to adhere to ‘instructions’.
We believe a police officer’s appearance can influence public opinion about police, we have therefore decided to devote part of our busy schedules in working on our uniforms to appear neat in person to command respect from our colleagues and the civil populace.

As stated in the bible, cleanliness is next to Godliness, we also believe cleanliness in policing is next to command of respect from civilians.

We take this opportunity to communicate to our colleagues that irrespective of how tedious our job is, we can defy odds and appear neat in uniform, for that can draw civilians closer to give us information about whatsoever challenges they’re facing, and also to motivate them to work towards achieving the aim of becoming responsible policemen in the near future.

Simultaneously, we want to take this opportunity to plead to authorities to help provide us with needed set of uniforms (boots, lanyard, beret, etc) at least, twice a year, so that we can appear neat and serve unceasingly. Authorities are doing very well in supplying the police with vehicles, it’s left with the rest….which complete uniforms can’t be left out.

If junior officers can manage the few and appear neat, they can do more when more is given, reminiscing on Oliver Twist quote……

Before I end, I must say kudos to the previous and current government who have police service at heart and keeps providing it with logistics. It boost our morale. Please give us more to boost our confidence in combating sophisticated crime.
