"We'll Review JB Danquah In The History Curriculum" - Otukonor

The National Democratic Congress has disclosed that they will review the July 1 holiday which has been abolished by the ruling NPP Government.

According to them, they will also make changes in the educational calendar which they think has been distorted by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, deputy General Secretary of the party, Peter Boamah Otukonor explained the party which is confident of winning the 2020 elections will make the changes and ensure that the country’s history is not distorted.

"We'll not review only the Republic Holiday . . . we will review JB Danquah in the history curriculum as well," he added.

However, he said it was untrue to state that the holidays were causing loss to productivity, adding that some holidays have equally been added and that those holidays all sum to the number of holidays we already have in the country.

"This issue of 1st July being a holiday is non debatable because this country has a lot to commemorate on this day as a holiday," he added.
