"Im Not Keeping MuteArrest JJ and Benyiwa Doe" says Rawlings Accuser

Trouble courting 27-year-old NPP activist, Nana Darkwa, who for passing unsubstantiated comments which imputed ill motive to former President Rawlings on an Accra-based radio station, Top Radio, was incarcerated on Thursday but released Friday, is in the news again. Barely twenty-four hours after his arrest, confinement and subsequent release, the most sought-after NPP sympathizer says his ordeal will not deter him from commenting on issues of national concern and has rather challenged the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, Rose Bio Atinga to effect the arrest all those who made similar unguarded comments in the past, including NDC Founder, JJ Rawlings. If Rose Atinga has something to do, she should start arraigning Jerry Rawlings (ex-President), Ama Benyiwa Doe and the rest before the Cocoa Affairs CourtIf they finish with their trial, Im ever ready to face trial in this country, he said. Speaking in an interview on Joy FM, a few minutes after his release, Nana Darkwa was emphatic that he will continually participate on talk shows on any platform as and when he is invited, and posits that his arrest has done little to shake his resolve to criticize the ruling government. Im not going to keep muteif theres a newspaper review and I happen to be at the studio or any other studio, even JoyFM, and.i realize that this is what Ive to say and that it is the truth, Ill go ahead and say it. Even if the NDC led by Kofi Adams, Jerry Rawlings, whoever (storm the place), he said. He is a former Student of Trans African College, practices as a freelance journalist, and formerly worked with the Upright News newspaper. Nana Darkwa lauded the NPP administration for entrenching democracy and freedom of speech in the country. Matilda, to be honest with youIt is through our administrationthe NPPs administration, that yourself and myself..got the freedom to speak, other than that you will not be here speakingmyself, of course Im enjoying the freedom. Today somebody can just call a radio station and talk just as he/she likes, he said. According to him, he is not the first person to have made unsubstantiated comments on-air and enumerated similar instances. During our tenure of office, Ama Benyiwa Doe sat in the studios of PEACEFM said a whole lot of things, Jerry John Rawlings said a whole of thingsRadio Gold, Alhaji and Alhaji.Look the chaos they caused in 2008what did not happen in the country? Im not the first person to do this, he pointed out. Nana Darkwa was arrested on Thursday by the police after alleging on Top Radios morning show, that ex-President Rawlings deliberately set his house on fire. He was processed for court and remanded into prison custody for 2 weeks by the Cocoa Affairs Court in Accra, but spent the night at the Police Ministries cells. He was subsequently released today, Friday, February 19th, by an Accra High Court, which granted him bail in the sum of GH 400 plus one surety.
