NIA Makes Progress In Ghana Card Registration In Ho

The National Identification Authority (NIA) Ghana Card registration exercise is making progress after botched technical glitches of day one.

Checks by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at some registration centres within the Ho Municipality indicate that most applicants were able to go through all five stages for the registration and issued cards at the close of day one and two.

Mr Maxwell Kumi, Supervising Registration Officer (SRO), SSNIT Registration Centre in Ho, told the GNA that a total of 60 cards were registered on day one and three spoilt cards recorded due to inaccurate data from applicants.

He said only eight cards were issued to applicants out of 44 cards printed on the first day with the rest failing to show up to collect their cards.

He said his outfit was targeting to register some 60 applicants daily.

At the Stadium Gate Registration Centre, the SRO declined to speak to the GNA, but applicants in long queues were busily going through the exercise, some collecting their Ghana Cards, having successfully gone through the stages.
