Documentary Film Making Professionals From 15 Developing Countries Undergo Training In Beijing

A seminar for documentary and Film making professionals from developing countries is underway in Beijing, China.

The three weeks seminar is aimed at sharpening the skills of professionals and also introduce them to new techniques in documentary film making production.

The government of the People's Republic of China through its Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are sponsoring the training seminar which also seeks to enhance the skills of documentary filmmakers and further strengthen the bonds of international collaboration the Asian giant and other nations.

The Research and Training Institute, National Radio and Television Administration is organizing the training with a total of 45 documentary film making professionals from 15 developing countries participating.

Among the topics under discussion are "China TV series making", "How To Tell A Better Story In The Multimedia Era", "Translation of Chinese Film and Culture" and "Creative industries in China". Participants are also expected to share their experiences and also learn new trends in the television industry.

In her opening remarks, Vice President of the Research and Training Institute, Liu Ying, said she will be happy to collaborate with Ghana in the development of the media industry.

Ghana's representative at this year's seminar include Peace fm/peacefmonline Sally Ngissah, GBCNEWS correspondent, Michael Dewornu, Class FM's McAnthony and Atinka Media Village's Isaac Nuamah.

Currently, China has a total of 2,218 television and radio stations, made up of 147 radio and 157 television networks in the world which are all state-owned.

They also have 42 educational stations dedicated for only educational programmes for both adult and school children across the country. The large television and radio presence in China has made the country the largest producer of radio and TV content with enormous quality and productivity.

China is one of the economic powerhouse in the world because it has made the spread of information easy and accessible with every province having it’s own radio and television network to disseminate government policies to the local people.

It has also spread it's culture and lifestyle to the outside world through famous movies and documentaries.

"Docuchina" is among one of the many Chinese documentary films making exploring China and producing documentaries projecting their culture, new technologies and local governance.

In the production of content for documentaries and film in China, there have been some level of collaboration with developing countries in Spanish, French, Arabic, Portuguese, Russian etc
