Ho Tennis Club To Host Asorgli Te Za Tennis Tournament

The Ho Tennis Club is set to host the annual ‘Asorgli Te Za’ Tennis Tournament in Ho, the Volta Regional capital.

The three- day competition is expected to see Four (4) clubs including the host battle for honors and bragging rights in single and double games for both Men and Women.

The participating clubs include Army Officer’s Mess Tennis Club 37 (defending champion), Maritime Tennis Club from Nungua, Tema Oil Refinery Tennis Club from Tema and Goldfields Tennis Club Tarkwa.

Dignitaries expected to grace this year's tournament include the Volta Regional Minister, Sports Minister, the Commander of the 66 Artillery Regiment Ho, Chiefs from the Asogli State, among others.

According to the Chairman of the Ho Tennis Club, Dr. Eyram Bansah, all the invited clubs will arrive in Ho on Friday, 6th September, 2019, this he said will be followed by socialization and warm-up sessions at the Tennis Court on the same day.

On Saturday, 7th September, the matches will commence at 7:30am after breakfast and at 10:00am, the matches will pause briefly for the official welcome ceremony. This year’s tournament will be used to mobilize funds for completion of ongoing development projects.

Matches will then resume till 5pm for the official closing ceremony.

Invited clubs will be served with a night of dancing after the games

There will be 'Grudge Matches’ on Sunday morning, this will continue till the last club departs.
