Ignore Mahama Over Oti River Bridge – Abronye DC

The Bono Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC has urged Ghanaians particularly indigenes of Oti not to fall for ex-President John Mahama’s promise of constructing a bridge over the Oti River when elected in 2020.

Mr. Mahama made the pledge recently but Abronye DC in a statement observed that the former President deserves no attention from Ghanaians.

That, according to the statement, was because the ex-President promised the people of Oti prior to the 2012 general elections to construct a bridge over the Oti River.

However, the statement said the former President failed to honour his pledge as the sitting President from 2013 to 2017.

It recalled “I say so because this same Mahama had already promised the people of Oti region on the 15th October, 2012 prior to the 2012 general elections that, when voted for as president, he would construct a bridge over the Oti river for them.”

The statement pointed out that “He (Mahama) said this while addressing a rally at Saboba in the then Northern Region as part of this 3 days tour to the region.”

“This clearly tells us the true behavior of John Mahama. He still hold the conception and idea that, Ghanaians are suffering from a short memory syndrome,” it said.

The statement, however, indicated that President Akufo-Addo has promised to construct a bridge over the Oti River while urging Ghanaians to have hope in President Akufo-Addo as he starts the process of constructing it.
