Whoever couched the word ‘Karma’ should be loudly applauded, as the powerful word will forever remain relevant in human endeavours.
The current administration, when in opposition, had a game plan whereby they engaged people working at the various state agencies to steal classified documents which they used in bastardizing the then government in power.
With the tables turned in 2017, and they are now into office, the Law of Karma has caught up with them, as the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration is today getting back the dose it offered to others in the past.
What is intriguing is the fact that the government is today hounding civil servants snitching on them, because it suspects that some of them were floating information about the scandals that have currently hit the system.
Apart from snitching on the civil servants, there are suspicions among certain ministers and their deputies, as well as some chief executives of state agencies and their deputies.
The Inquisitor is reliably informed that there have been numerous instances that civil servants with years of experience were left out in the scheme of affairs because they were suspected of leaking information.
What is laughable is the fact that the ruling NPP, while in opposition, had a special project of having people in various Ministries, Departments and Agencies leaking documents to them for political purposes.
At the time, the NPP could latch onto fake documents and call out the then government names over nothing.
Some of the civil servants who were used for such grubby purposes were rewarded with juicy appointments when the government took office.
Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin North in the Central Region, on several platforms claimed that he paid people for information when the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) was in power.
Others, who helped the NPP but could not be trusted, were transferred or reshuffled to other areas where they could not lay hands on official documents.
The Inquisitor has it that the leakages of scandals are done at the behest of appointees who are not happy with their colleagues.
For instance, the National Youth Authority (NYA) procurement scandal was blown by a Deputy Chief Executive Officer who felt that his Chief Executive Officers was engaging in wrongdoings.
Apart from that, other scandals were leaked because some people felt that they were left out in the ‘chop-chop’ game.
The Inquisitor gathered that there had been lots of instances where deputy ministers were summoned to the Presidency on suspicion of leaking information about their ministers.
The leakage of scandals became the obvious game plan when it became clear that the seat of government would not act on various complaints received on appointees.
The government is jittery because attempts to cow the civil servants are not working, as no day passes without some classified information getting into the public domain.
There are indications that more scandals would be leaked, as certain persons in government are neck-deep in corrupt acts.
Although, there is strict surveillance on suspicious civil and public servants, state documents still get into the public domain, something which is creating sleepless nights for the government.
The Inquisitor has it that the government is planning series of re-orientation programmes for its appointees, as it is overwhelmed by currents events.
The headache of the government is that if this trend continues into next year, which is an election year, its incorruptibility claims will amount to next-to-nothing.
Already, Ghanaians have come to terms that the then opposition NPP hoodwinked them into thinking that they were saints who were coming to save the country from all problems.
