Disciples Of Violence Hold Confab

A wall of tension and acrimony among supporters of Nana Addo and Alan have heightened sharply as the contestants of the party have stepped up their campaign strategies to woo the precious votes of the delegates. Both Nana Addo and Alan Factions have become so visible among their followers that some members of the party are gripped with fear as to whether the near bloody clashes of December 2007 Conference held Legon will repeat itself on Saturday. Sensing danger ahead of the Conference, earlier this week, the NPP has banned delegates and supporters of the party from wearing or carrying paraphernalia of Nana Akuffo Addo and Kyeremanten to the Conference ground. Furthermore, the party has also banned supporters who may engage in an opened campaign for both Alan and Nana Addo. This was to forestall any clashes that may occur at the event. These directives, according to some political analysts, have betrayed the NPPs claims of being more democratic than any other political party in the country. The last NPP National Delegates Conference in December 2007 at the Legon, a suburb of Accra, which hardly elected their flagbearer, was characterized by violent clashes in and outside the Hall that nearly caused the lives of followers of Kyeremanten, particularly Paul Afoko. Reports reaching us indicate that the Saturday Conference may turn fatal if strict security measures are not followed. This is because due to bitter experiences that some supporters of Alan have suffered in the past, they, also, have prepared to face any unhealthy move that followers of Nana Akufo-Addo might make to outwit them.
