Zanetor Rawlings As Klottey Korle MP Was A "Gift" From NPP But... - Prince Debrah

Following the events leading to the NPP Primaries for orphan constituencies in Klottey Korle constituency, Parliamentary aspirant Prince Debrah yesterday met with the party's delegates of Odawna Sahara electoral area as part of his campaign activities.

He called for unity in the NPP fraternity, stressing that the party's defeat in the 2016 Parliamentary elections in the constituency arose from the disharmony that existed within the NPP.

"Zanetor Rawlings is not difficult to beat because her win was made possible by the N.P.P. members in Klottey Korle. Let us note that it is not the member of parliament who brings unity, but rather the united members of N. P. P. who bring the Member of Parliament. So for us to win, we need to be united. I believe even though this constituency is at the crossroads, the delegates can still turn it around", he said.

Prince Debrah debunked the claims to abandon Adabraka which is under the constituency as some delegates have criticized him for his strong ties and support for Osu.

"This idea of Osu versus Adabraka is a diversionary tactic and will only bring division in Klottey Korle Constituency.

"Let's stop ethnic politics because 68% of the N.P.P voters in Klottey Korle are 'Akans'. Let us not repeat that mistake which has haunted us in the past. Rather, I think the discussion should focus on how committed the aspirant is and whether he can bring prosperity to the constituency", he urged.

He also addressed rumors of a hostile relationship between him and fellow Parliamentary aspirant, Harry Quartey, during a meeting with the delegates in Adabraka.

"Harry has never insulted me, there is no quarrel between us. Please note that there is no disagreement between myself and Harry so those propagating lies of bad blood between us should stop", he stated.

NPP Coordinator for Adabraka Odawna, Charles Boadu also advised the delegates saying "if we come together as one, we can take the parliamentary seat from the N. D. C. because we have done it before for two terms. Also, Klottey Korle is a swing constituency and therefore the N. D. C. cannot lay claim to it".

He further commended the delegates for their commitment and hardwork towards the party stressing that "delegates apathy must be turned into delegate enthusiasm in Klottey Korle Constituency. When politicians think that the little money we give delegates is payment for their services to the party, I think that is very disrespectful to the delegates, because the work they do for the party is worth far more than that".

Prince Appiah Debrah and Harry Quartey will on the September 28, 2019 contest for the NPP Parliamentary candidate of Klottey Korle in the Primaries.
