Jake Is New NPP Chair; Otiko Knocks Out Churcher As "Sir John" Unseats Ohene Ntow

Peacefmonline.com can reliably confirm that former Minister of Tourism in the erstwhile New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, Jake Okanta Obetsebi Lamptey has beaten his closet rival Stephen Ntim to win the National Chairmanship position of the NPP. Official results released by representatives of the Electoral Commission indicates that whiles Mr. Stephen Ntim polled 1804 votes, Mr. Obetsebi Lamptey secured 2,030 of the delegates votes to win the Chairmanship position. Five persons contested for the position of National Chairman. They were Stephen Ntim, Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey, Charles Wereko-Brobbey, Felix Owusu Adjepong, Sammy Crabbe. Felix Owusu Adjepong polled 25 votes, Charles Wereko-Brobbey secured 29 votes and Sammy Crabbe had 43 votes. GENERAL SECRETARY: Five persons vied for the position of General Secretaryship. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, Nkrabeah Effah Dartey, Obeng Busia and Nana Ohene Ntow. Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afiriyie popularly known as Sir John dethroned Nana Ohene Ntow to become the new General Secretary. He polled 2386 votes, whiles the incumbent Nana Ohene Ntow had 918 votes. Nkrabeah Effah Dartey polled 431 votes, Obeng Busia had 139 votes and Yaw Buabeng Asamoah secured 77 votes.
