Wise Victory Eases Relegation Pressure

All Stars have inched closer to breaking into the top four after recording a 3-1 home win over bottom club, Hasaacas on Wednesday at the Wa Park. The outstanding match-day-22 result further plunged the relegation battlers into more trouble as they now have to pull themselves out of the drop with eight matches to go. While Hasaacas were floundering, another Sekondi-based side, Eleven Wise also caught up in the relegation struggle rather lifted themselves above the last three. Wise managed a shocking 3-2 win over Heart of Lions go 13th on the standings. Playing at the Sekondi Sports Stadium, Wise did not disappoint when they raced into a 3-0 first half lead with goals coming from Winfred Dormon, Issa Alhassan and William Owusu. But the home side reeled under pressure as Lions returned from the break to pull two goals back. Edmund Owusu-Ansah and Kofi Nti Boakye scored for Lions but the much needed third goal to draw them level never materialized.
