Asamoah Gyan Not Available

Sunderland coach Steve Bruce has confirmed that his attacker Asamoah Gyan will miss the final game of the season. The Ghanaian striker has started training which sparked hopes that he could play in their last game of the season against West Ham. The Black Cats boss has seen his options severely depleted over recent weeks, with first-team stars struck down at regular intervals. A lack of senior personnel saw Bruce name seven youngsters on the bench for last weekends 3-1 defeat to Wolves. He may be forced to do the same at West Ham on Sunday, with the likes of Craig Gordon, Michael Turner, Titus Bramble, Lee Cattermole, Kieran Richardson, Danny Welbeck and Asamoah Gyan all still sidelined. I cant see anyone making it back in time, Bruce told the clubs official website. While frustrated to be without so many of his leading lights, Bruce can take comfort from the fact that the Sunderland academy has produced so many potential first-team regulars.
