FORMER PRESIDENT Rawlings could probably be ordained a Man of God to propagate the gospel of Christ should he open his doors to a Sunyani-based Evangelist, Opoku Paul, for a �divine� message. The founder of Jesus Is Coming Soon Apostolic recently told a team of journalists at the Inner City and Africa Ministries (ICAM Centre) at Odumase, near Sunyani, that he had a vision in 2006, where God directed him to deliver a special divine message to President Rawlings. He hinted that when he delivered this message to the former president, something dramatic would happen in the life of Mr. Rawlings, which will surprise many Ghanaians. Evangelist Opoku said if former President Rawlings made room to receive him and obeyed what God had for him, God would use him [Rawlings] for pastoral work to win souls for Christ. When pressed to reveal the message God had for Mr. Rawlings, the 62-year-old evangelist refused to do so but insisted that he must first see the former president before he could reveal it to the entire world. He said since he had the vision about six years ago, he had made frantic efforts to meet Mr. Rawlings but to no avail since his body guards and aides did not allow him to get closer to him. According to him, he had officially written to Mr. Rawlings, but that also proved futile. He said he was using the media as a platform to appeal to the former president to give him audience so he could deliver God�s message to him. Touching on the end time, Evangelist Opoku said Ghanaians should not allow themselves to be deceived by false prophets who claimed to when the world would end. He said even though the times were near as many things indicated in the Bible were taking place, nobody could tell of the exact day judgment would take place. According to him, the reigns of former presidents Kwame Nkrumah, Jerry John Rawlings, John Agyekum Kufuor, and President John Evans Atta Mills, marked a special period in the run up to the end time. He said there was a chart about the reigns of the four Ghanaian presidents that God was using to tell the world about the end time, which he would soon tell Ghanaians. Evangelist Opoku said God was using Ghana and her political system to bring about the rapture, as he related it to the ancient Kingdom of Israel. But said he must first see former President Rawlings before he could tell the whole world the divine revelation about the end time.
