When Fowls Are Fighting They Dont Peck Their Eyes Off Each Other - Teye Nyaunu

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Lower Manya Krobo, Michael Teye Nyaunu, who is a leading member of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings campaign team, has described the on-going fighting between supporters of the former First Lady and President John Mills in the media as unfortunate, very unhealthy and a great display of immaturity and ignorance. He disclosed this to Abena Asedua Tenkorang on XFMs Morning Show the Big Bite on Friday. As the date for the congress draws closer, members of the two camps have sometimes made derogatory remarks about each other and the candidates. However, Hon. Nyaunu said since the contest is an internal affair it demands no fighting at all, adding that even when fowls are fighting they dont peck their eyes off each other. He stressed that the fighting is uncalled for and will not help the cause of both sides in the party. Meanwhile, the Nana Konadu loyalist has expressed surprise at the alleged negative propaganda being waged by the Enquirer newspaper, which in a publication on Friday, May 20, claimed that Hon. MP was rescued by a woman from being lynched at Akuse by his constituents. The paper reported that at the said meeting delegates wanted to lynch him for the supposed lies he was peddling about President Mills as well as his abysmal performance as an MP in the area. Hon. Nyaunu, who denied the accusations, explained that the said meeting was aimed discussing developments in the area with the constituents and not the scenario presented by the paper.
