We Wont Waste Time On Teye Nyaunu Mills' Aide

An Aide to the President, Nii Lantey Vanderpuije, has told Citi News the Presidency will not waste precious time responding to comments made by the Campaign Coordinator of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings Campaign Coordinator, Hon. Michael Teye Nyaunu. Hon. Nyaunu was captured on tape convincing delegates that President Mills is virtually blind and incapable of running his Government. The Lower Manya MP said the President could no longer read confidential documents brought to the Castle. He said as a result, the Law Professor has allowed those surrounding him such as Mr. Ato Ahwoi, to run the country. According to him, the information is from an insider but the Nana Konadu Camp is hesitant to publicize it because it wants to protect the NDCs image ahead of the 2012 elections. This is the second time the vociferous MP has made such remarks about Professor Mills. Prior to the 2008 elections, Mr Nyaunu made similar allegations against the Law Professor, claiming that he was too in poor health to be President. But in an interview with Citi News, President Mills Aide Nii Lantey Vanderpuije, refused to confirm or deny the MPs claims. He said the President will continue to focus on bringing development to Ghanaians. In a rhetorical manner, Mr. Vanderpuije asked how the President was able to deliver his messages extempore at various functions without first going through them, if indeed he could not read. May be Teye Nyaunu has told you that he is the one who comes to read the Presidents communiqus for him. Even if he (President) talks extempore, the things do not come from the sky to enter his head. At least the things are written and he grabs them before going to deliver. Pick any of the speeches he has delivered and look at what he delivered extempore and ask whether those things are planted in his head before he comes to deliver or he reads them before he delivers. I dont think I want to waste my time on that report because the President has gone to a place like Sefwi-Asawinso where people do not have water. About 219 secondary school students are sleeping in a two-bedroom dormitory. These are the things I want to talk about and not about Teye Nyaunu he noted.
