2011 Lorenzo Natali Prize for Journalism

The delegation of the European Union to Ghana on Friday announced the opening of the application procedure for the 2011 Lorenzo Natali Prize for Journalism. A statement issued in Accra said the Lorenzo Natali Prize, established in 1992 by the European Commission, was launched on May 3, to mark World Press Freedom. It seeks to reward journalists committed to Human Rights, Democracy and Development. The Prize is partnered with Reporters without Borders and is open to print, online and broadcast journalists based in Europe, Africa, Arab World and the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean The Prize is awarded annually to journalists. The 2010 competition had more than 1,100 applications. The deadline for submission of entries is August 31.
