The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Yammin has warned members of his own party alleged to be peddling lies about him to desist from the act, failure to do so will result in him descending into the gutters with them. According to him, some elements in the NDC are painting a negative picture of him and are also using his name to convince delegates to the party�s July congress in Sunyani to vote for the incumbent president. Fuming with rage, Yammin, who expressed his anger in an interview on AdomFm�s Dwaso Nsem programme, cautioned that if they do not put a stop to the practice, he will be compelled to go to town with details of every dirt he has on the instigators. He vowed that he will not allow any member of the party to soil his hard reputation just because of their parochial interests. �If they want us to come out and talk fine; if they speak ill of Yammin, I will be forced to talk about them too. If they want us to descend into the gutters, I will join them there�I won�t sit down for anybody to soil my hard earned reputation�They meet delegates and tell them that Yammin is the person destroying the party in the region and allege that I have receive contracts when they know very well that what they are saying is false�what is their reason for doing that?� he questioned angrily. A known Jerry Rawlings devotee, the Ashanti Regional NDC Secretary said he seems to be the target of a campaign of calumny since he decided not to declare his support for any of the candidates who are vying for the flagbearership position.
