Allotey Jacobs: Many Ghanaians Do Not Know The President

The Central Regional Communications Director of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs has ironically stated that many Ghanaians do not know President Mills as such there was a need for the first gentleman of the land to tour every nook and cranny of the country for the citizenry to really get to know him. According to the former Central Regional NDC Propaganda Secretary, it was very necessary for the President to tour the country for Ghanaians to know him in person instead of reading about him in the newspapers or watching him on television. He added that there were so many people in the Eastern Region who did not know the President so his tour of the region offered such people the opportunity to see him in person. As a result, he said, President Mills' tour has been highly successful with massive turnouts at all grounds he (the President) has visited so far. I dont see anything wrong with it if people have been bused to cheer the President, he told Peace Fm. Speaking during a panel discussion on Peace Fms kokrokoo programme Wednesday morning, Allotey Jacobs reiterated that though the President would not be able to tour every part of the country the general public should seize the opportunity to meet with him whenever his nationwide tour brings him closer to them. The President, John Evans Atta Mills arrived in the Eastern Region on Tuesday May 31, to begin a three day tour of the region. He (President Mills) is expected to inspect and commission government projects during the tour. The tour of the Eastern Region was suspended last week due the President's trip to Nigeria for President Goodluck Jonathans investiture. President Mills has already toured the Upper East and West, Northern, Ashanti, Brong Ahafo and Western regions.
