My Wife Won't Back Down For Anything - JJ Tells NDC MPs

Information reaching Peacefmonline.com indicates that a crunch meeting held by some stalwarts of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) including the leadership of the Majority side in Parliament and some members of the Council of Elders with the Founder of the party, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings, at his Ridge office in Accra has failed to achieve its desired impact. According to peacefmonline.com sources, all attempts to get the founder of the party to convince his wife to step down ahead of the NDCs Sunyani Congress on July 8 to elect the flagbearer proved futile. Leaders of the NDC in parliament and some members of the Council of Elders of the party on Wednesday held a crunch meeting with the Founder of the party, JJ Rawlings at his office to persuade the him to get his wife, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, to withdraw her candidature for the position of the flagbearer of the NDC in the impending delegates congress in Sunyani next month. Reliable sources told peacefmonline.com that the founder patiently listened to all what they had to say but did not heed to their plea. The founder is reported to have stated that the NDCs race is one of Principles vs. The Presidency and that his wife could not give it up for anything.
