JJ Is Unable To Adjust To Post Presidential Office

Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide newspaper and outspoken critic of the Rawlingses, Malik Abdul Kwaku Baako believes the inability of former President Rawlings to adjust to post presidential office is the reason for his constant criticisms of the Mills administration. According to him, Rawlings has still not been able to adjust to the fact that he is no longer the president of Ghana. Former President Jerry John Rawlings has for some time now been accusing some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), especially those in the Mills government, of disowning him as a member leader because of his stance on various national issues. Speaking on Joy FMs Newsfile Programme Kwaku Baako strongly asserted that Rawlings will have to blame himself for being sidelined from the party and the Mills government. He posits that Mr. Rawlings, being the founder of the ruling NDC and the chairman of the Council of Elders of the party, has not been able to position himself well. Let us be honest, it is Rawlings difficulty to re-adjust to post presidential office that is at the core of this entire problem. You remember he is the founder and leader so in trying to decouple them, it become a problem so I put the blame squarely at his door step when he says he has been marginalized, he asserted. He said the Council of Elders is a body crafted to heal wounds, intervene and mediate and it is unimaginable to have the Chairman of a Council of Elders being the agitator general.
