Student Stabs Classmate Dead

A FIRST-YEAR student of Ejuraman Anglican Senior High School (SHS) in the Ashanti region has been stabbed to death by a fellow student on campus. Atta Mensah Robert, 17, a science student, was stabbed in the chest by a colleague first-year student who is nicknamed �Relax.� A fight resulted in the suspect pulling a sharp knife to stab the deceased in the chest. The horrendous incident occurred around 10pm on Tuesday in the dormitory, following earlier skirmishes between the two. Mensah Robert was bleeding profusely and was rushed to the Ejura Government Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The Ejura District Police Commander, Superintendent Henry Bacho, told DAILY GUIDE that the dead body had been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy. Three students, including the main suspect, Relax and two others whose nicknames were given as �Pizaro� and �Pamizi�, have been apprehended to assist police investigations. The sharp knife which the suspect used to stab the deceased, has also been retrieved by the police from the school. Narrating events leading to the act, Superintendent Bacho said a fight ensued between the deceased and main suspect, Relax, after prep around 9pm. Some students around the scene managed to settle the impasse between the two before they went to their respective dormitories. Around 10pm that same day, the key suspect, who could not control his anger, pulled a sharp knife and rushed to the dormitory of the deceased to engage him in another fight. Before the deceased could return the series of hefty punches being hurled at him, the suspect stabbed him in the chest with a sharp knife. Mensah Robert became unconscious after he was stabbed so he was quickly rushed to the Ejura Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival. The police were informed and they quickly rushed to the school campus to effect the arrest of the key suspect and two other students who were at the scene during the stabbing. The Ejura District Police Commander assured that the matter would be duly investigated.
