NPP Executives Demand Apology From Haruna Esseku

The Walewale constituency executives of the New Patriotic Party have taken a swipe at Mr. Harunah Esseku, the former NPP National Chairman over his recent media outburst that sought to create the impression that they were against Dr. Mahamud Bawumias bid to serve as Nana Akufo Addos running mate for the 2012 general elections. Despite the former NPP National Chairmans unqualified apology rendered to the angry Walewale constituency NPP executives, they described the assertion made by Mr. Harunah Esseku as a figment of his own imagination which intended to create a bad feeling between them and their enviable brother Dr. Mahamud Bawumia. They made reference to his Kickback saga which nearly marred the integrity of former President John Agyekum Kufour and jumped to the conclusion that Mr. Harunah Esseku should be banned from making unfortunate comments on the media about the NPP if he has no meaningful suggestions to offer the party as it hopes to wrestle power from the NDC in 2012. Alhaji Bawa Kasimu, the Walewale constituency NPP Chairman took the swipe at Mr. Harunah Esseku at a news conference held in Walewale to officially respond to his unsavory remarks about Nana Akufo Addos 2008 running mate Dr. MahamudBawumia. He said the executives waited so much the time to react to the former NPP National Chairmans comments because they felt it needed to be treated with the contempt that it deserved but upon a second consideration decided to officially rubbish the assertions. Alhaji Bawa Kasimu said though the Mamprusis disappointed the NPP during the 2008 elections, Dr. Bawumias support to the constituency towards building party structures ahead of elections 2012 was immeasurable. According to him, the Mamprusis will be very much disappointed if the NPP replaced Dr. Bawumias partnership with Nana Akufo Addo in 2012. He said the electorate in the Mamprugu land regretted for voting massively for the NDC during the last elections and were prepared to change the voting pattern in favour of the NPP in 2012. Alhaji Bawa, the Walewale constituency NPP Chairman therefore cautioned Mr. Harunah Esseku and other likeminded personalities within the party to stop peddling falsehood against Dr. Mahamud Bawumia and concentrate on making meaningful contributions to bring the NPP back to power.
