The National Executives and all members of the Ghana School Feeding Caterers’ Association in the 16 regions of Ghana would like to CONGRATULATE Hajia Safia Mohammed on her appointment as the National Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The Association deems the appointment as not only timely but crucial for the smooth running of the most cherished social intervention programme, after the sudden demise of our late National Coordinator, Dr. Mrs. Gertrude Quashigah. The Programme takes care of close to 4 million children in deprived public schools nationwide.

We take this opportunity to ‘elephantly’ thank the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Chief of Staff, Madam Frema Osei Opare and our Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hajia Lariba Zuweira Abudu for reposing their trust and confidence in Hajia Safia Mohammed, who has worked with the GSFP as Regional Coordinator in the Savannah Region since 2017.

We wish to remind her of the many challenges confronting the School Feeding Programme most especially those that affect our Caterers such as:

• Delayed Payment of caterers’ arrears
• Non-payment of some caterers since 2017
• Continuous deductions in payment and underpayment in caterers’ arrears
• Poor communication between Management and Caterers among others.
We believe in her ability, capacity and capability to run an open door and a more transparent administration. We wish that she will be a mother for all, tolerate all caterers and ensure total transformation of the GSFP.
In conclusion, we pledge our unflinching support and total cooperation for her administration, in order to ensure the sustainability of the Programme.
