The estranged girlfriend of J.B. Danquah Adu, Ex-MP for Abuakwa North and Deputy Minister of Women and Children�s Affairs in the erstwhile Kufuor administration, who is standing trial on robbery charges told an Accra Fast Track High Court that the former legislator asked for her underwear size when he wanted to date her. This was revealed in court by Detective Sergeant Isaac Asiedu Odei of the Police homicide Unit when he tendered the ex-MP�s estranged girlfriend�s investigation caution statement. Narteley Yirenkyiwaa Nettey aka Awura Ama, 26, the ex-Minister�s estranged girlfriend is standing trial together with Charles Antwi and Nana Yaw Ampaw as the first, second and third accused persons respectively and the police say the three conspired to rob the ex-MP aka JB at the East Legon apartment of the lady on August 26, 2010. The accused persons have been in police custody since their arrests. Led in evidence by Paul Asibi Abariga, a State Attorney, Detective Odei told the court presided over by Justice Mustapha Habib Logoh that the case was handed over to him on September 8, 2010 to conduct further investigations after it had initially been handled by Detective Sgt Yaw Gyan of the East Legon Police. He said �they were already in custody so I took further statements from them and took custody of exhibits retrieved by Sgt Gyan.� The investigator said the exhibits included two kitchen knives, lady�s dress, skipping rope, blood-stained bedspread, digital camera, a pair of shoes and shirt belonging to JB and shirts belonging to Ampaw. He said he arrested Ampaw from his hideout at New Tafo Akim in the Eastern Region on October 17, 2010 after which he took further caution statements from all the accused persons. The prosecutor then asked Sgt. Odei who was testifying as the ninth Prosecution Witness (PW9) to read the investigation caution statement of the accused persons, starting with Narteley. In the statement written by Narteley, she said she met JB for the first time at a thanksgiving service in Kyebi and when he admired her clothes her friend told JB that she (Narteley) was a designer. According to the statement read by Sgt. Odei, JB had told her that he was interested in helping young entrepreneurs when he invited Narteley to his (JB�s) office at Airport, Accra. He said Narteley wrote that whilst JB was in London on a trip, he called her to ask for her underwear size and when he arrived he visited her and brought her underwear and perfume. Narteley also wrote that JB proposed to her at a hotel suite and when she said she was going to Kumasi on a business trip JB funded it including the payment of hotel bills. The investigator said Narteley had written that JB agreed to buy her VW Beetle but later changed his mind and said he would buy her a Dodge car from PHC Motors but the car never came. She had written that JB made part payment of the rented East Legon apartment and also said that JB promised to rent a shop for her but never did it. The investigator said the accused had written that JB stopped seeing her and gave excuses.
