The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) together with Renel Ghana Foundation has called for more young women to be empowered in political Participation

As part of the International Women's Day celebration this month, the call for women's concern to be addressed in the area of politics and bridge the gender gaps, create gender-equal working environments where all talents can thrive, and unlock a brighter, more sustainable future for all.

The dialogue aims to address the barriers young women face in political processes and explore strategies to foster a more inclusive and equitable future.

The Gender team lead at United Nations Development Programme(UNDP Ghana) ,Ms Jennifer Asuako in an interview with Peace FM news said, we need to highlight the value of women for development and the importance of advocating equality between men and women in every sector we found ourselves in as a country.

"We also need to increase the number of women leaders in business, finance, central banks and finance ministries. This can help drive investments in policies and programmes that respond to women and girls’ needs," she said.

According to her, Women’s rights are a proven path to fair, peaceful, prosperous societies.

She said despite progress, women face significant obstacles to achieve equal participation in the economy and calls for ensuring equal opportunity for women and girls to build their capabilities and strengthen their capacity to learn, earn, and lead.
