Kofi Adams Has Gone AWOL Yaw Boateng Gyan

National Organiser of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan has berated the partys Deputy General Secretary, Kofi Adams, for relegating his core duties to the background and criss-crossing the country campaigning for NDC presidential hopeful and former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings. He accuses Mr Adams of having abandoned his office for some two months all in a bid to canvass for delegates support for the former First Lady. Speaking in an interview with Kwami Sefa-Kayi on Peace Fms Kokrokoo programme, Yaw Boateng Gyan disclosed that per the statutes of the party each delegate has to have his or her accreditation card processed before the congress takes-off, but Kofi Adams, whose responsibility it is to ensure that everything pans out well, has gone absent without official leave (AWOL). His (Kofi Adams) behavior is not really helping the situationfor some two months now, I havent set eyes on Kofi Adams at the office (headquarters)he (Kofi Adams) is always with Nana Konadu so he does not have any time to spare for the party, Yaw Boateng-Gyan said. To him, gallivanting across the country at this stage of the presidential primary to impress on delegates to vote for Nana Konadu at the Sunyani Congress is needless. this is not the time to sell a candidate for a flagbearership positionsince they (Konadus campaign camp) claim she is already popular among the delegates, he added. The Presidential staffer also debunked claims by the Brong Ahafo Regional Coordinator of Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings (FONKAR), Chris Dugan, that a high-level meeting was held between the Deputy Brong Ahafo Regional Minister and Regional Party Chairman to convey a message to all delegates that the former First Lady should not be accorded any special treatment at the Congress grounds in Sunyani next month. There is no iota of truth in that claim, he said.
