'Our Minister Does Not Support Konadu Rawlings'

Some youth in the Walewale constituency who are members of the governing NDC have rubbished media reports that the Deputy Northern Regional Minister, Mr. San Nasaamu Asabigi is supporting Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings Presidential dream for which reason he must be sacked. They made reference to a Joy FM report which created the impression that a group calling itself Association of All Mamprusi Youth of the NDC in the Walewale constituency had called for the immediate removal of Mr. Asabigi because of his alleged support for Nana Konadus decision to challenge President John Mills as the partys 2012 flag bearer at the upcoming NDC Presidential primary slated for July 8-10 in Sunyani. In that report, they threatened to embark on a violent demonstration if President Mills does not relieve the Deputy Minister of his post within 10 days. However, in a sharp rebuttal at a news conference, Mahama Nurudeen, youth leader of the NDC in the Walewale constituency decoupled the entire party youth from the said report. He said the partys youth in Walewale had no knowledge of the said report and described the allegation leveled against the Deputy Minister as a figment of someones imagination targeted at damaging Mr. San Nasaamu Asabigis reputation. He added that the Walewale NDC were aware of some charlatans paid by their paymasters to denigrate Mr. San Nasaamu Asabigi whose contribution towards executing the Better Ghana Agenda could "not be underestimated." Mahama Nurudeen hinted that the entire NDC youth in the Walewale constituency were ready to meet the Deputy Regional Ministers detractors head-on if they continued their "diversionary tactics." He said he suspected the former District Chief Executive, Lord Abudu Zakariah as the brain behind such allegations because he had earlier accused the Deputy Regional Minister of being part of the team that masterminded his dismissal. He called on all NDC members nationwide to stop deepening cracks within the party and concentrate on building a united NDC for resounding victory in 2012.
