120 Ushers Selected For The NDC congress

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) recruited about 120 ushers to play various roles at the national delegate�s congress in Sunyani to elect a flag-bearer for the 2012 general election. They performed duties including serving water, breakfast and ushering in guests, delegates and observers to their designated sitting areas at the congress ground. Mr Ludwig Hlodze, National Youth Organiser of the party told the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani. The ushering sub-committee chaired by Mr Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development selected the ladies to perform the job. Mr Hlodze said most of the ushers were members of the party�s Tertiary Institution Network (TEIN) at the Sunyani Polytechnic and the Catholic University College of Ghana at Fiapre near Sunyani. He added that others were from other tertiary institutions on holidays in Sunyani. Mr Hlodze explained that they were taken through registration, screening and orientation before they were assigned their respective functions. The ushers were all clad in party round-neck T-Shirts.
