Pastor Nabbed For Visa Fraud

A 53-year-old pastor has been arrested and detained by the Adenta District Police Command over his alleged involvement in a visa racketeering case. Pastor Kofi Boakye, the Head Pastor of Arise and Walk Foundation Church, is alleged to have taken a sum of GH1,600 from the complainant under the guise of securing him an Italian visa. All efforts by the complainant to later retrieve his passport and the visa proved futile. The complainant therefore reported him to the police, who arrested the pastor and detained him. In his statement, the pastor noted that he would refund the amount but added that he could not find the complainants passport. He added that he would pay for a new one for him. He has however been charged for defrauding by false pretences and would be arraigned soon. The Adenta Commander, DSP Stephen Ahiatafu, cautioned the public against the use of middle men or connection men for visas.
